Currently I am the Senior Investment Officer with the Canadian Consulate General in Dallas, and responsible for facilitating investment into Canada by US companies located in the greater Texas region. Prior to this role I was based in Toronto as the Global Practice Lead Venture Capital for Global Affairs Canada, where I assisted Canadian technology companies and venture capital funds in securing investment from foreign VC, family and institutional funds. Earlier in my career I held several positions with Global Affairs Canada and Export Development Canada focused on supporting the growth of export sales of Canadian companies operating across several industry sectors.

After more than 20 years working on sales & strategy matters for the Telecom industry, Philippe de La Fortelle took over the Sales & Marketing team of PowerUp as Chief Revenue Officer. The company develops advanced battery analytics solutions to support energy storage players for safer and more reliable usage of their batteries. Their technology is based on more than 15 years of research initiated in the French Research Institute, CEA-LITEN.

Mike leads Stem’s Product Marketing efforts, focused primarily on front-of-the-meter (FTM) energy storage offerings. He has 7+ years of experience with wholesale markets, project finance, and utility distribution system planning, operations, and market design. Mike is a graduate of Rutgers University and the Harvard Kennedy School.

Ivan Regueira is Powin’s Director of Sales. Powin is a leading global battery energy storage technology company with over 2.5GWh deployed and 14GWh in construction and contracting. With over 17 years in the energy industry, Ivan has commercialized and executed projects with 7 different power generation and storage technologies. Ivan also has 12 years of supply chain management experience with global EPCs, deploying over 10,000MW of the world’s largest and lowest emission power generation facilities.

Nasreddine Guerfala is Vice President of Solutions at SunGrid. A professional engineer with over 12 years of experience in energy efficiency and sustainability, Nasreddine has worked as a Senior Consultant for an energy efficiency consulting company, and as a Director, Energy for a district energy company in Toronto. He was awarded by Toronto Hydro as the Energy Manager of the Year in 2017 and as Young Energy Professional of the Year by the Association of Energy Engineers in 2018, and is also a Certified Energy Manager and a Certified Measurement and Verification Professional.
