Nick Warner is the Co-Founder and Managing Principal of Energy Safety Response Group LLC. Prior to founding the company, Nick worked as an independent consultant at Warner Energy Storage Solutions. Before that, Nick held the position of Senior Test Engineer at DNV GL, where he worked with Laboratory Services and Distributed Energy Resources in Energy Advisory, developing and leading their energy storage safety and testing efforts including explosion modeling, risk analysis and code development. Nick has also led efforts to develop the Alternative Energy Fire Research and Training Center in Piqua, Ohio. Since 2015, he has focused primarily on safety topics related to battery storage integration, fire safety, large scale testing, permitting, failure analysis, and the handling and disposal of damaged energy storage systems. Nick is heavily involved in codes and standards development, and sits on the NFPA 855 committee plus several UL STPs. Nick completed his master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at The Ohio State University Center for Automotive Research, working in and running the Battery and Energy Storage Laboratory.
