Dr Dean Clift has been within water heating R&D for more than a decade. He works for both Rheem as a R&D manager and RMIT as a senior research fellow. Dean has completed a PhD titled 'Decentralized thermal storage to stabilize electrical distribution networks'. Dean represents RMIT as the chair of Australian Standards committee CS-028 and represents industry and academia on several national and state government advisory committees. Dean will present a summary of his PhD and emerging research that demonstrates the tangible benefits of water heating electrification, focussing on both consumer and grid benefits that assist our transition to 100% renewables.

Senior leader in power systems and renewable energy integration with 20+ years of experience across Australia and the APAC region. I have delivered over 150 successful projects involving power generation, transmission planning, and advanced energy systems (BESS, Wind, Solar, SynCon, STATCOM, and Microgrids). As a Practice Lead and former APAC Head of Generator Connections, I have built and led high-performing multidisciplinary teams and partnered with stakeholders across regulatory, utility, and private sectors. With a strong technical, commercial and operational focus, I have directed technical teams, service line activities, optimized business operations, and driven technical competency development aligned with organizational strategy. I bring a doer/seller mindset with experience identifying business opportunities, shaping customer-centric services, and improving long-term performance.

Jacob Kharoufeh is an experienced energy-focused strategy professional with over a decade of expertise in management consulting, commercial strategy, and partnership development. Currently, he serves as the Connections Partnership Development Manager at Ausgrid, where he leads initiatives to enhance grid connections for major customers and drives sustainable grid investments. Jacob has a strong track record in developing innovative business models, managing strategic partnerships, and delivering high-impact projects, including community battery development and EV charging services. His background also includes roles at PLUS ES and Energeia, where he shaped corporate strategies and go-to-market plans for distributed energy technologies.

Rozane Bezuidenhout is a globally recognized industry executive and Energy Director at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), leading energy transition and digital transformation across the USA, APAC, and EMEA. With over 20 years of experience, she drives sustainable, tech-enabled utility solutions. As a board member and advocate for women in STEM, Rozane champions inclusive leadership and mentors emerging talent. Her focus on innovation, resilience, and net-zero goals makes her a trusted voice in the global energy sector. A sought-after speaker, she shares insights on the clean energy transition, future systems, and the intersection of technology, sustainability, and equity.

Margaret Harvie has been a community engagement practitioner for over 30 years. For 15 years she has consistently supported renewable energy proponents to effectively engage communities. She works to strengthen proponents’ relationships with their communities. As a member of the NSW government panel of Chairpersons, she chairs several community consultative committees. This includes the New England REZ Community Reference Groups. She has developed and delivered to renewable proponents a two-day training program to provide competencies in planning for community engagement and working with emotional and outraged communities. Margaret is an International Association of Public Participation (IAP2) trainer and fellow.

With more than 16 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, Mary Josifovska brings a global perspective shaped by her work across North America, Europe, and Asia. Her background in foreign investment promotion has guided her career in advancing sustainable energy initiatives and cross-border collaboration. At Investors Beyond Borders, Mary leads the Global Strategic Partnerships team, fostering international investment opportunities in renewable energy, strengthening stakeholder engagement, and supporting sustainable regional development.

Felicity combines deep industry expertise with a strong commitment to people, local communities, and the environment. With over 25 years’ experience in the clean energy sector and community engagement, she has led with empathy, integrity, and a focus on delivering innovative, community-first solutions. At Someva Renewables, Felicity leads community, First Nations, and government engagement, drawing on corporate, community and government experience and an understanding of the unique opportunities and challenges for regional communities. She is motivated by a desire to help shape a more sustainable and equitable future through collaborative leadership, respectful engagement, and a commitment to empowering people and communities.

Martine Holberton has worked in renewables for the past 10 years, helping to launch Australia’s first cross-sector group PPA, then developer-side, and making a shift more recently to work on collaboration and best practice, currently leading the Wimmera Southern Mallee Regional Energy Collaboration and working on a biodiversity and renewables initiative. Martine is passionate about a clean energy future that enables a wellbeing economy. Ensuring community engagement is genuine, participatory, upfront and follows through is essential to the development of any project, but Martine understands our future rests on our capacity to cooperate. We must also be creative and innovative, and deliver outcomes for people, communities and the environment that create a legacy well beyond tomorrow. It is through a systems thinking lens that Martine is committed to delivering an energy transition that's not only essential but builds resilience, brings communities together, and restores and protects nature.

Marco Salinas is the Co-Founder and CEO of Hubble, a climate-tech company using AI to help homeowners and councils make smarter, faster decisions on how to improve comfort, cut emissions, and save energy. With a background that bridges technology, sustainability, and human behaviour, Marco has spent his career building tools that make complex environmental data simple and actionable. Under his leadership, Hubble has partnered with governments, and the building industry to accelerate household electrification and strengthen Australia’s pathway toward climate resilience. Before founding Hubble, Marco worked across tech and sustainability sectors in Australia and overseas, including roles driving innovation in data systems and energy analytics. He holds a Master’s degree in Technology from Carnegie Mellon University and a Professional Certificate in Energy Innovation from Stanford University. Passionate about empowering communities through knowledge and design, Marco believes the path to net zero starts in every home — by building resilience, reducing energy consumption, and making every home a better place to live.

Jacqui has 23 years’ experience as a social performance professional, across the renewables, mining and transport sectors, as well as local and state governments. Having spent most of her life in remote and regional areas, Jacqui is passionate about supporting local residents and building relationships that help deliver social and economic benefits over the long term. As Director of Community and Social Performance at Cubico Sustainable Investments, Jacqui leads the community engagement, social investment, government and media relations for the company’s portfolio of renewable wind, solar and battery projects, both in development and construction.

As Head of Customer and Partnerships at Formbay, Jade brings deep operational insight into the challenges of electrification at scale. With a background in customer support and a track record leading the successful rollout of the NSW PDRS scheme, they now oversee the end-to-end customer journey ensuring compliance, usability, and industry alignment. Their work bridges the gap between busy tradies on the ground and the evolving needs of regulators, while also driving partnerships that shape smarter, more integrated product solutions for Australia's electrification future.

Sam is at the forefront of utilising behind the meter residential data to help homes save money on their bills and reduce their carbon footprint. He has worked in tech for over a decade, both in Melbourne and San Francisco. He has been an advisor to the Data Standards Advisory Committee and given talks about the development of open energy data in Australia.

Ana joined AusNet in 2015 and is currently responsible for developing and operationalising programs and capabilities essential for facilitating the rapid decentralisation of the electricity distribution network. She leads a team dedicated to innovation, strategic LV network planning, network resilience, integrating CER, and implementing unconventional technologies like Stand Alone Power Systems and batteries. Ana has served on the Engineering Advisory Board for Deakin University for 5+ years, highlighting her continued dedication to collaboration on innovation projects and strengthening partnerships between industry and universities. Ana holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (Honours) and Bachelor of Science (Chemical) from Deakin University and a Master of Engineering (Engineering Management) from the University of South Australia.

Ashok Krishnan is a Manager, Market Development at Sumitomo SHI FW (SFW) in Helsinki, Finland. He holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering and leads SFW’s power system modelling and market development activities related to the Energy Storage Business Line in Australia and the wider Asia Pacific region. Ashok has 5 years of academic experience in areas such as power systems modelling, power flow simulations and microgrid energy management systems. He also has 8 years of experience across various industry roles including technical consulting, business development, selling SaaS solutions utilizing satellite data and modelling mathematical optimization problems. He is currently focused on commercializing SFW’s liquid air energy storage solution for long duration energy storage applications in key global markets including Australia.
