“Princess of Punk”, British Fashion Designer

The acclaimed British designer Dame Zandra Rhodes DBE, studied at Medway College of Art, Kent, and at The Royal College of Art. Introduced to the world of fashion by her mother. One of the new wave of British designers who put London at the forefront of the international fashion scene in the 1970s. Her prints were Pop Art-infused commentaries on the world of Sixties Britain. She made her biggest splash in 1977 with the establishment take on punk which she called “Conceptual Chic”.
