Wayne is the Head of Global Security for Macquarie Group, where he oversees the enterprise-wide workplace security, threat intelligence, insider threat, GSOC and fraud management functions. With over 30 years of experience in intelligence, executive protection, resilience and security risk management, Wayne has a proven track record of building commercially minded and risk proportionate security programs that align with business objectives. He is recognized for building resilient security cultures, aligning technology with business objectives, and navigating complex regulatory landscapes. Prior to his 17-year tenure at Macquarie, Wayne led executive protection at Goldman Sachs, where he collaborated with key partners to establish an intelligence-driven security program tailored to high-risk environments. Earlier in his career, he held a leadership role on President Nelson Mandela’s personal protection detail, overseeing strategic operations and close protection protocols during a pivotal era in South African history. Wayne holds a JD law degree from the University of South Africa, along with AI and Chief Technology Officer certifications from MIT and Wharton. He frequently contributes to industry panels and advisory boards, advocating for proactive security governance and innovation in threat intelligence. Wayne is a Board member of the International Security Management Association (ISMA).
