Commercial Originator · Boralex · company speakers →

Tim Sinclair is UK Commercial Originator at Boralex, responsible for leading the company’s route-to-market strategy across its UK portfolio. His role focuses on securing revenue solutions for onshore wind, solar and battery storage projects, notably Contract for Difference (CfD) applications and Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). Tim joined Boralex in December 2025, bringing experience from TotalEnergies, where he worked in offshore wind business development and asset management. During his time there, he supported projects through key development stages, including consenting and grid strategy, while developing particular expertise in CfD auctions. He provided market intelligence and economic analysis to inform investment decisions and later served as Asset Manager for the Erebus floating offshore wind project. At Boralex, Tim works across projects approaching the final stages of development, helping structure the commercial frameworks that underpin investment and financing decisions. He is currently involved in progressing revenue strategies for several wind projects, as well as being closely focused on a battery storage project. He also plays an active role in developing relationships with corporate and market counterparties as Boralex continues to expand its UK presence. Tim holds a degree in Economics and Geography from the University of Aberdeen, where he specialised in energy economics and renewable energy development. He is particularly interested in UK renewable energy strategy, grid policy and the evolving role of CfDs and PPAs in enabling the energy transition.
