Robert leads the Sustainable Solutions Group at ING for the EMEA region. This team assists clients in integrating their sustainability strategies into their financing strategies by incorporating ESG metrics into financing structures. Additionally, the team collaborates with internal stakeholders to ensure the client portfolios align with disclosure & ESG risk requirements, and climate commitments. Robert began his career at Rabobank, focusing on carbon trading and energy derivatives. He then transitioned to renewable energy financing, where he together with a local team established the renewable energy finance business in India and later expanded it across the Asia-Pacific region. Upon returning to the Netherlands, he joined a credit structuring team. In 2016, Robert moved to ING's Energy team and assumed his current role in 2019. Robert holds an MSc in Business Administration from the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, and a BSc in Process Engineering from the Utrecht School of Technology.
