<p>Peter is a Lead Engineer at BBC R&D with extensive experience of broadcast and technology, including video compression, file-based acquisition and networked media, and work on virtual graphics led to a Queen’s award for Innovation for BBC. He led BBC’s demonstration of a UHD IP Studio for the 2014 Commonwealth Games, paving the way for today’s IP based systems based on technologies such as ST 2110 and NMOS. </p> <p>Peter is a frequent contributor to industry work on interoperability, an SMPTE Fellow, co-author of the JT-NM Networked Media Reference Architecture, and chair of several AMWA and EBU groups. He is co-chair of EBU’s Dynamic Media Facility initiative addressing technical transformation of live production through containerisation and cloud-first technology, and is on the leadership team of the open source Media eXchange Layer project.</p> <p> </p>
