Paul Morton is an Of Counsel at international law firm Herbert Smith Freehills and is based in the firm's Paris office. He also spent three years (from March 2017 to June 2020) in the Johannesburg office. Paul advises on a wide range of corporate and project development matters in the oil & gas, power, renewables and natural resources sectors throughout Africa, with particular experience in acquisitions and disposals and joint venture arrangements. His work is heavily focused on Francophone Africa. Paul lectures in France and the UK on oil and gas law, as well as comparative French and English contract law, and has delivered training workshops to government officials in Francophone Africa on oil and gas contracts.
