Dr. Luke is a Professor of Surgery at Western University. He completed his medical training at the University of Toronto, residency at the University of Western Ontario, fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh, and has been an attending surgeon at London Health Sciences Centre since 2000. He was selected as one of Canada’s “Top 40 Under 40” by Caldwell Partners and the Globe and Mail in 2005, and is the 2010 recipient of the American Urological Association Gold Cystoscope Award, presented to a urologist distinguished by outstanding contributions to the profession within 13 years of completing residency training. His clinical research interests include kidney/pancreas transplantation and advanced surgical techniques (robotics, telesurgery, laparoscopy). His basic science research involves ischemia reperfusion injury, organ preservation, and optimization of organ function post-transplant. Specifically, he has an interest in drug repurposing and subnormothermic machine perfusion of organs to optimize organ protection.
