Nicola Connelly is Chief Executive Officer of SP Energy Networks (SPEN), leading four regulated electricity network businesses serving around 12 million people across a 170,000‑kilometre network in the UK. She oversees electricity distribution across Central and Southern Scotland, the North West of England and North Wales, and leads a £12 billion investment programme to modernise the transmission grid and deliver the Government's Clean Power 2030 ambitions. Nicola has over 30 years’ experience across the ScottishPower Group. Under her leadership, SPEN is focused on becoming smarter, more resilient, and customer-centric – continually improving service for customers and stakeholders, while ensuring our electricity network is ready to meet the demands of a net zero energy system.
