Nick Prowse is an energy lawyer based in London. He specialises in the natural gas industry and has worked on many upstream and downstream transactions in Africa, the Caribbean, Europe, the Middle East and the USA. Nick has a broad range of upstream and downstream experience advising international oil and gas companies, national oil companies, owners, developers and lenders on major energy transactions. He spent over three years with BG Group as BG’s legal manager in Trinidad and Tobago, advising BG and its co-venturers, ChevronTexaco, Eni SpA, Petro-Canada and Petrotrin, on a broad range of upstream and downstream activities for the development, production, transportation, processing, liquefaction, marketing and sales of natural gas. Whilst living in Trinidad, Nick worked closely with BP Trinidad and Tobago (BPTT) on the development and start-up of Atlantic LNG Trains 2 and 3 and on the development of Train 4. He also worked closely with BPTT on the development of the cross-island pipeline, a world class, 56", 2.4 bcf/d natural gas pipeline. Nick first joined the London practice in 1992 and qualified as a solicitor in 1994, having spent six months in Bahrain. He rejoined the London practice in 2003 and became a partner in 2005. Nick read Law at Birmingham University and studied for the Law Society Finals at the College of Law in York. Nick is a member of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators.
