Dr Neil Peirce is a Research Fellow and Technology Lead at the Learnovate Centre, hosted at Trinity College Dublin. Educated at Trinity College Dublin he holds a PhD in Personalised Educational Games, a MSc. in Multimedia Systems, and a B.A. (Mod) in Computer Science. As a Technology Lead at Learnovate he has implemented projects in the areas of web-based personalised learning, game-based learning, learning analytics, analytics visualisation, and API design and usability. These projects have addressed learners in early childhood, schools, and corporate learning settings. He has extensive experience in software development including web development, game development, expert systems, service oriented architectures, and API design and usability. Neil is a committee member of the ECGBL and has published in international conferences including ICALT, ECTEL, ECGBL, HCI International and DIGITEL. Neil currently coordinates the DEVELOP (H2020) project. He is also an expert reviewer for EC projects in technology enhanced learning, and has worked on research projects including ELEKTRA (FP6) and the Centre for Next Generation Localisation (SFI).
