Professor Mohamed Mamlouk, is the chair of Electrochemical Engineering at Newcastle University with 20 years’ experience in Electrochemical energy storage and conversion technologies (electrolysers, fuel cells, and batteries). He currently leads several projects on electrochemical hydrogen production including: Ocean Renewable Energy programme grant leading sea water conversion to carbon free fuels workstream(£10m), ANion Exchange Membrane Electrolysis from Low-grade water sources (£3.5m). Next generation anion-exchange membranes (AEM) with covalently-bound antiradical functions for enhanced durability (£1m), Sustainable Heavy Duty Truck, Marine and Rail Transport £1.1m and CI on A network for hydrogen-fuelled transportation (£1m) He has published >66 papers in the electrochemical engineering science field, with >2300 citations (h-index of 31) and two book chapters on electrochemical hydrogen production. He has given over 60 talks >14 of which as keynote lectures. He is member of Electrochemcial Technology Group committee of the Society of Chemical Industry and Electrolysis Expert on IEA hydrogen Technology Collaboration Programmes. He has provided consultancy work to several energy conversion and storage industries e.g. NewCell Technologies, Hydrogen Power Generation Solutions, AFC energy and Enocell Ltd.
