As CEO of Orascom Development’s origin town, El Gouna, I’m proud to build on its remarkable legacy and lead its next chapter, realizing its full potential as the region’s most sought-after sustainable and integrated coastal destination. Mohamed Amer joined Orascom Development in May 2022 as CEO of El Gouna. In June 2025, he expanded his leadership scope by joining the Orascom Development Egypt (ODE) Board as an Executive Board Member and assuming the role of Managing Director for Commercial Activities. Bringing with him a wealth of executive experience in leading complex organizations across diverse geographies, Amer is taking El Gouna into a new chapter of the town’s iconic journey. He is responsible for steering El Gouna’s master-planned community to ensure its Real Estate, Hotels and Town Management operations come together to provide world-class customer experience for living, staying, working and well-being. Prior to joining Orascom Development, Amer built a distinguished 23-year career at Xerox, where he held multiple senior leadership roles. Most recently, he was Vice President and Regional General Manager for Xerox Middle East and Africa, based in Uxbridge, UK, where he managed business operations and strategy development and execution across 85 countries. He also held the role of Regional General Manager for the Xerox Distributor Group in Miami, Florida, overseeing 34 countries across the Caribbean, Central America, and South America. His career began in Alexandria, Egypt, in 1999, where he advanced through various management and leadership positions in Xerox’s Middle East, Africa, and Egyptian operations. Amer holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Alexandria University, Egypt.
