Michelle N. Armstrong leads philanthropic investments to effect systemic educational reform, workforce development, and nonprofit capacity building at the PMI Educational Foundation. Previously, she specialized in venture philanthropy at the Goldman Sachs Foundation to ensure the educational attainment of academically talented, financially less advantaged students. Her earlier work at MetLife Foundation catalyzed new priorities in grantmaking, including emphases on educational access and opportunity, workforce readiness, and the aging of America. In addition, Michelle previously directed two regional nonprofit education programs to promote college going as well as examined educational reform and policy initiatives as a researcher at both the National Center for Restructuring Education, Schools, and Teaching at Teachers College, Columbia University and Education Development Center. She holds an A.B. from Harvard University and an M.Phil/ABD from Teachers College, Columbia University.
