Kathryn joined SSEN Transmission earlier this year as head of external engagement. She leads the team of community, stakeholder engagement and social value professionals who are responsible for ensuring that the build-out of the North of Scotland transmission grid is delivered collaboratively with stakeholders and achieves tangible and lasting benefits for host communities and society at large. Kathryn has more than 25 years’ experience in communications and external affairs, including just over a decade in the energy industry with bp and Shell, and five years in infrastructure development supporting Scottish Government major transport projects. Kathryn holds an MA in Languages from Heriot-Watt University, diplomas in public relations and public affairs and is a chartered member of the CIPR.
