John is the Head of Nomura’s Natural Resources & Power Investment Banking team EMEA. He has 25 years’ experience as adviser and banker to corporates, sponsors and governments. Before joining Nomura in 2011, he was the Head of Standard Bank’s London Advisory team, focusing on natural resources transactions (2008-2011). Prior to this, he was a Managing Director at Bank of America in London and also spent eight years at Deutsche Bank in London, Hong Kong and Johannesburg. John started his career in strategy consulting at The LEK Partnership in 1992. Key transaction experience includes acting as lender to Seplat Petroleum as part of the refinancing of its international RCF and advisor to an underbidding consortium on the sale of DONG’s E&P business, Dragon Oil on the $6.2bn takeover bid it received from ENOC and Talisman Energy on its sale to Repsol ($13.3bn).
