Jan Laubjerg is Global Head of Natural Resources at HSBC. In that capacity, he is responsible for the delivery of investment banking services to oil & gas, metals & mining, power & utilities and renewables companies globally, with a strong emphasis on the transition agenda. Prior to HSBC, Jan was the Chief Executive Officer of FlowStream, a global provider of streaming capital (i.e. “royalty financing”), debt and preferred equity capital to oil & gas companies and an acquirer of oil & gas royalties. Prior to co-founding FlowStream with financial backing from KKR and Global Gate Capital, Jan was Co-Head of Natural Resources and Head of Oil & Gas, EMEA for Nomura International. He joined Nomura post its acquisition of Lehman, having spent the majority of his banking career at Goldman Sachs, which he left as Managing Director responsible for oil & gas clients across EMEA. As a banker, Jan has acted for all forms of natural resource clients, on largely all forms of deals, across six different continents. Prior to going to business school, Jan was a management consultant with Booz Allen & Hamilton. Jan has a MBA from INSEAD and a MA/BA from Cambridge University.
