Ian spent 32 years in policing in three different police forces, retiring as a Chief Inspector from West Yorkshire Police in 2019. During his service he was focussed on uniformed frontline policing, specialising in neighbourhood policing, community engagement and partnerships.<br /> <br /> In the last few years of his service he was the digital operational lead for the force, charged with transforming policing and bringing in new technologies such as mobile applications and Body Worn Video for the first time. He ensured that both the strategic aims of the force and the operational needs of frontline staff were met. However, he also remained operationally active as a Tactical Firearms Commander and a Public Order Commander.<br /> <br /> Following his retirement from the police, Ian joined Motorola Solutions working on a sales overlay team across Europe, Middle East and Africa. In many ways his current role of identifying and highlighting requirements, outcomes and benefits is very similar to the role he held in the police.
