Geert Wernaart is a senior L&D advisor who has been with Dutch law firm De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek for two and a half years. Amongst other L&D topics, he has been focusing on Diversity & Inclusion from his first day at the firm. With a background in educational sciences and HRM, Geert applies his experience in the field of corporate L&D to high-impact learning programmes for both lawyers and non-legal professionals within the firm. Geert strongly believes in creating a culture where people can perform at their best simply by being themselves. Culture change does not simply come from setting diversity targets and hiring people from different backgrounds. Of course this helps, but building an inclusive culture requires a change in mindset and behaviour, where L&D plays a crucial role.
