Esbjorn Wilmar is Vice President for Boralex UK, leading the company’s strategy and operations across the UK renewable energy market. Esbjorn joined Infinergy in 2006 and served as its CEO prior to the company becoming part of Boralex. During that time, he was instrumental in the delivery of more than 30 onshore wind and solar projects, including around 500 MW in Scotland. He also played a key role in shaping the opportunity to grow the UK business as part of Boralex, helping transition Infinergy into a larger international platform while retaining a strong UK focus. With more than 25 years’ experience in the energy sector, Esbjorn brings deep expertise across business development and senior leadership. His career spans work in the Netherlands, the UK and overseas, and includes experience across renewable energy, oil and gas, and waste management, giving him a broad perspective on the energy transition and the commercial realities that underpin it. Alongside his role at Boralex, Esbjorn has long been active in the wider renewable energy industry, particularly through RenewableUK and Scottish Renewables. He is comfortable engaging across a wide range of audiences, from investors and policymakers to local communities, and is a strong advocate for targeted engagement around renewable energy projects.
