After studying law Eileen worked in local government policy, until her enthusiasm for sustainable community development led her to join EMEC in 2009. In more than 15 years at EMEC, she has worked with a huge range of technology companies large and small worldwide, and seen first hand the positive impacts of the emerging marine energy sector in Orkney. As Corporate Affairs Director, the market intelligence gained from this breadth of experience directly feeds her role. This includes stakeholder engagement and industry lobbying activities, as the Centre has become a global focal point for low carbon innovation, involved in R&D projects with a total value of more than £500m.
