Mahdi Sharifzadeh holds a PhD in Process Systems Engineering. He has contributed extensively to addressing complex challenges in energy and environmental systems engineering. His research focuses on the integrated design and operation of electrolysers, multiscale carbon capture and storage, decarbonisation of electricity grids, analysis of greenhouse gas emissions in the water-energy nexus, resilient design and operation of multi-vector energy networks, and the systems engineering of renewable fuels and commodity products.
