David Roche is a Research Director (Strategic Energy Collaborations) at the UTS Institute for Sustainable Futures (ISF), University of Technology Sydney. He leads business development for ISF’s Energy Futures team and research on various topics, including distributed energy systems, flexible demand, and net zero strategy. He has over 30 years’ experience in business development and technology commercialisation across a range of industries, including pioneering work in the early days of the Australian photovoltaic industry. He mentors company founders through the start-up incubator EnergyLab and has been a director of five ASX-listed technology start-ups.
