Chris completed a PhD in the modelling and control of absorption cycle heat pumps in 1987 and then went on to teach subjects in mechanical building services engineering for 37 years at Northumbria University. He has over 100 research publications in energy modelling, control and heat pumps including 6 books and book chapters. In retirement, besides ongoing research on hybrid heat pump systems, Chris delivers the CIBSE training course 'Analysing Heat Pump Systems' to UK practitioners. Chris is an honorary lifelong member of CIBSE.
