Care That Never Stands Still: “To me, Momentum: Care in Motion captures the essence of oncology nursing as a forward-moving, adaptive, and compassionate discipline,” Chinomso said. “Personally, it reflects my own journey of continuous growth, balancing clinical practice, education, and research. Professionally, it represents the collective drive of oncology nurses to innovate, advocate, and sustain the momentum needed to improve the lives of patients and families affected by cancer. “Momentum reminds us that care never stands still; it evolves as our science, compassion, and commitment advance.” Chinomso said several sessions will highlight how oncology nurses and nurse scientists are shaping the future of cancer care through evidence translation, innovation, and precision health. “One of these sessions showcases how nurse scientists are redefining the clinical landscape by bringing research to the point of care,” he said, adding that this session will discuss evolving models of clinically based nurse scientist roles, enabling attendees to learn how these models foster collaboration, accelerate the use of evidence-based practices, and integrate biomarkers into clinical decision-making to enhance personalized care. Another session will discuss the role of oncology nurses in personalized medicine. “As genomic and molecular data increasingly guide cancer treatment, this session will explore how nurses interpret complex data, educate patients and families, and collaborate in multidisciplinary teams to deliver equitable, evidence-driven care,” he explained.
