ONS conferences consistently motivate me to identify opportunities for workflow improvement and enhance patient care. They reinforce my confidence as an oncology nurse and empower me to grow professionally.

Never Stand Still: “Momentum: Care in Motion captures both the heart of caring and the forward movement of our profession,” Noelle said. “Our work never stands still—science evolves, patient needs shift, and our roles continually expand. Personally, this theme reflects the ongoing growth and adaptability required of us as clinicians and leaders. Professionally, it honors how oncology nurses consistently push care forward, driving innovation at the bedside, in research, and across entire systems.” One of the sessions that Noelle is helping to coordinate focuses on the evolving role of artificial intelligence (AI) in oncology. “Human First, Tech Forward: Nursing in the Age of AI” will introduce key AI concepts, highlight real-world clinical applications, and explore how nurses can lead in integrating technology in ways that strengthen decision-making, efficiency, and patient-centered care. She said that, regardless of how attendees personally feel about AI, it is already shaping oncology nursing practice, so understanding its impact and how it works is essential. “My hope is that participants leave with a clearer sense of what AI can and cannot do, along with real-world examples of how it is already being used and practical strategies for ensuring that technology supports—rather than replaces—the human elements at the heart of nursing,” she said.
