Brenda Walters is a tourism communications professional in her role as Account Director at Big Ambitions. Combining her historic corporate background with her experience in nature-based tourism, she works with values-led travel organisations in sharpening their messaging. After an extensive career in the corporate sector, Brenda shifted direction in 2009 to work in marine ecotourism and conservation – work that aligned with her values and passion for making a tangible difference. Before joining Big Ambitions, Brenda worked with Marine Dynamics and the Dyer Island Conservation Trust for 12 years contributing across communications and storytelling, conservation project management, donor relationships, training, marketing, management, and public speaking. Her work also included liaising with community and government stakeholders and collaborating with film crews to help translate complex conservation realities into compelling, responsible narratives. Brenda previously served as a trustee of the Dyer Island Conservation Trust and as Chairperson of the Gansbaai Tourism Committee, reflecting her commitment to community-led destination stewardship. Having travelled through Southern and East Africa, she is passionate about inspiring a deeper love for nature and a more respectful way of experiencing it.
