Dr. Anna Cartwright is an Associate Professor in Economics at Oxford Brookes Business School, Oxford Brookes University. She has an established, international reputation as an expert in the economics of cybersecurity, particularly, in terms of ransomware and quantification of cyber risk. This reputation has been built through more than ten years of pioneering research and engagement work on the topic. In recognition of her expertise, she served as a Fellow and then Senior Fellow of the Research Institute of Sociotechnical Cyber Security (RISCS) on the theme of Quantification and Cyber Risk. She has recently led on quantification of cyber risk project that was funded by the NCSC and the Cabinet Office. The project delivered a state-of-the-art oversight of cyber risk quantification in organisations to inform government.<br /> <br /> Through such projects and more, Cartwright has extensive experience of working with a range of stakeholders, including central government (the Home Office, DCMS, the Cabinet Office, NCSC), law enforcement (Kent Police, Leicestershire Police), businesses and charities. She also engaged over many years with the Regional Organised Crime Units, the Cyber Resilience Centres and Cyber Protect network. She also has experience of running focus groups and engagement events with SMEs.
