Originally from Colombia, Ana Maria Suarez Vanegas (Ana Suarez) moved to Australia in 2018 and it’s been obsessed with Wombats since the first time she laid eyes on these beautiful marsupials. She’s a Professional Civil Engineer with emphasis in construction project management from the National University of Colombia, with a Diploma in Environmental and Energy Certifications from the University of Barcelona, a Graduate Certificate in Environmental Design from the University of Melbourne, Green Star® Associate since 2023 and LEED® Green Associate since 2012. She has 19 years of experience in management for commercial projects, design coordination and Environmentally Sustainable Design (ESD) working with PAYC (now Egis Colombia), Basix Watpac, Buildcorp Group, among others. She has worked on circa 342,000 constructed square metres including museums, libraries, education, offices, retail, industrial, health and hotels, with a strong focus on developing sustainable projects and LEED & Green Star certifications. She is currently Design Coordinator with Buildcorp Group in Melbourne. She loves spending time with family, enjoys Latin American literature, Anne Rice books and binge watching legal drama series on her down time.
