Alex is an RIBA/RIAS Chartered Architect and Fellow of the RSA and HEA. She is Associate Executive Dean for Learning and Teaching in the School of EGIS at Heriot Watt University. Her research focuses on cross disciplinary collaboration in the built environment and preparing future industry professionals for the Climate Emergency. She develops innovative UK wide higher education programmes connecting construction disciplines with diverse external stakeholders. Her nationally recognised work includes being shortlisted as Times Higher Education’s ‘Most Innovative Teacher’. She believes smart, ethical education—building communication and social skills—is essential for delivering technological progress and inspiring future generations.
