With a background in professional sports and graphic design, Westley had a unique entry point into the world of the Built Environment. Westley spent 5 years specialising in the network integration of Building Energy Management Systems which provided a solid foundation to build upon for what we now describe as ‘Smart Buildings’. Joining Schneider Electric in 2008, Westley continued to develop his knowledge and passion for making buildings more intelligent and moved into commercial side of the industry where he worked on the prescription of solutions and securing contracts. Over the last 7 years, team leadership has been the main responsibility and now in his role as Digital Buildings Director Westley is helping customers reach their sustainability goals, developing smart building solutions across many different segments including Commercial Real Estate, Life Sciences and Healthcare to name a few. Now Westley leads the Real Estate Segment for Europe at Schneider, determined to tackle the climate crisis one commercial building at a time!
