Valeria is from Colombia, and is a PhD researcher at the Institute of Environmental Science and Technology - ICTA-UAB (Barcelona, Spain) on the Conservation Data Justice project. Her research aims to explore justice in the data that informs and shapes area-based conservation policy in Colombia, with an emphasis on the process of recognition and reporting of Other Effective Conservation Measures (OECMs) in the country. She holds an MSc in Global Development, Environment, and Climate Change from the University of Manchester, an MA in Transmedia Communication, and a BA in Journalism and Communications.
