Tomislav Sokol, born in Zagreb, graduated magna cum laude in law from the University of Zagreb in 2006. He earned an LL.M. in EU law from the Catholic University of Leuven (KUL) in 2009, also with distinction, and a PhD in 2014, focusing on the EU's free movement of cross-border healthcare services. Sokol served as Assistant Minister in Croatia's Ministry of Science and Education in 2017, later becoming a Member of the Croatian Parliament. Since 2019, he has been a Member of the European Parliament, where he holds key positions, including EPP Coordinator in the Committee on Public Health. Sokol is the European Parliament’s rapporteur on the European Health Data Space, as well as the rapporteur on Critical medicines Act, and EPP's shadow rapporteur for GPL, and pharmaceutical reform rapporteur. His areas of interest include the law of the European common market, EU health law, administrative law, competition law, international and European social law and international and European trade law.
