Tomáš Mrkvica is the founder of the Hradec Králové Circular Center and the initiator of projects focused on the development of material reuse and circular construction in the Czech Republic. He has long been connecting cities, schools, construction companies, and community initiatives with the goal of returning construction and other materials back into circulation and developing new skills in the areas of repair, deconstruction, and upcycling. In Hradec Králové, he is currently preparing to establish a circular yard—an infrastructure for sorting, storing, and reusing construction materials. At the same time, he collaborates with research institutions and cities on systemic solutions that can help transform the way we manage materials, not only in the construction industry.
