Tom Bonamici has worked in bag and clothing design for 15 years, with extensive experience in entrepreneurship, small business, and domestic manufacturing. He is currently an assistant professor at the University of Oregon in Portland, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Product Design and Sports Product Design. His research explores lightweight materials and assemblies for backcountry gear and apparel, with particular interest in the advantages of lightweight equipment and clothing for human performance and environmental responsibility. Tom also has experience in woodworking, timber frame building, and outdoor education.
