Tom Wheeler serves as the General Counsel for the United States Department of Education. Previously he served as the Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights at the United States Department of Justice, as a Senior Advisor to the White House Federal Commission on School Safety, and as Senior Counsel to the Secretary of Education. Tom has spent 35 years representing law enforcement agencies and educations institutions throughout the United States. He has also served in a variety of capacities with national education and law enforcement organizations, including the Board of Directors for the National School Boards Association, Chair of the Council of School Attorneys, and General Counsel for the National Sheriffs’ Association.
