Thihangwi Ramutsindela is a passionate African storyteller and wildlife advocate using film as a tool for change. With a Master’s degree and a deep commitment to nature conservation, she has dedicated her career to wildlife documentaries and impact-driven filmmaking, spotlighting the urgent environmental stories that often go unheard. Thihangwi currently serves as the Head Tutor for the 2025 Film in Africa course and as Program Coordinator and Head Tutor for the UCT Impact Facilitator course, where she mentors youth to channel their creativity into purpose-driven storytelling. She volunteers for both the Encounters South African International Documentary Festival and the virtual Wildscreen UK Festival, continuously contributing to the global documentary community. As the founder of Nga Maanda Awe Film Festival, she champions emerging filmmakers and amplifies underrepresented voices. Now, in her role as Coordinator for NEWF (Nature, Environment & Wildlife Filmmakers), Thihangwi continues to merge her love for wildlife and filmmaking to inspire lasting impact.
