Austin is a retired senior executive with the Transportation Security Administration, where he was responsible for research and development, screening procedures, and risk analytics for the agency. He was also responsible for the initial demonstration and requirements development for all technology used by the TSA in checkpoint and checked baggage operations. He is currently the president of Gould Strategic Solutions, where he provides expert consulting on aviation security and technology.
