I am a post-doctoral trainee in the UAB-HudsonAlpha Genomic Medicine PostDoctoral Training Program working under the mentorship of Dr. Greg Barsh at the HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology. My research interests include utilizing large-scale genome sequencing efforts to inform disease risk and drive equitable applications of genomic medicine. My graduate work focused primarily on characterizing the role of poison exon inclusion in neurodevelopmental disorders and the regulation of voltage-gated cation channel translation via alternative splicing. Currently, I am applying the resources provided through the All of Us Research Program to determine social and biological contributors to the prevalence and presentation of neurofibromatosis type 1, Marfan Syndrome, and autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease.
