Simon Emeny, Specialist Markets Director at LRQA, responsible for the LRQA strategic markets initiative in nuclear power and energy transition. Simon has worked across the global nuclear supply chain and also in conformity assessment for sectors including Energy Transition, rail and chemicals. Simon is a Fellow of the IMechE; vice chair of the IMechE Pressure Systems Group Board and the IMechE Technical Strategy Board. He is currently directing the ITPIA activity at Sizewell B (SNUPPS); Hinkley Point C (EPR); Rolls Royce SMR (PWR); and Sizewell C (EPR) he is also a technical authority for ISO19443. Previously Simon has engaged with Wylfa Newydd (Hitachi ABWR) and Barakah (KHNP APR1400). LRQA is the leading independent third party assurance provider, formerly part of Lloyd’s Register, who’s civil nuclear heritage includes design and construction inspection at the first civil nuclear power station, Calder Hall, commencing in 1953.
