Sharon Preszler was the first woman to fly the F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter jet in combat and later became the first woman to be an instructor in the aircraft. During her 20-plus years of service in the U.S. Air Force, Preszler was also a navigator, piloted a Lear Jet, and spent time in North American Aerospace Defense Command writing homeland defense plans.
