Dr. Estes practiced nursing in the areas of critical care, medical/surgical nursing, emergency, brain injury, mental health and research specialties. Following years of clinical nursing and research collaborations with Dr. Lori Davis, Dr. Estes earned graduate degrees in Nursing and Education (Ed.D.) specializing in Instructional Leadership at The University of Alabama. Her dissertation research on stimulant use among nursing students was groundbreaking and innovative. She has been an award-winning nurse educator since 2006 and was promoted to Clinical Assistant Professor in 2021. She has published manuscripts in peer reviewed journals and delivered podium presentations at many professional conferences.
