Sam Ward FIET is a Chartered Engineer and Business Leader at Laing O'Rourke, currently leading a new venture delivering modular lift solutions to the rail sector. Over the past 15 years, he's moved from frontline project delivery into digital engineering and innovation – always with a focus on making construction smarter, more efficient, and human-centred. After helping build and lead Laing O'Rourke's UK pre-construction digital team, Sam joined the Technology and Innovation leadership in 2019, where he's helped turn big ideas into practical solutions. He's passionate about 'sophisticated simplicity' – using technology to solve real problems, improve outcomes, and make a meaningful difference to how we build for people and communities.
