Salvador Hernandez, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Transportation Engineering at Oregon State University and Associate Director of Engagement for the USDOT-funded Center for Freight Transportation for Efficient and Resilient Supply Chains (FERSC). He leads the Transportation Safety and Logistics Laboratory, where his work focuses on transportation safety, freight operations, and the resilience of supply chain and roadway networks. His research applies large-scale data, advanced econometric modeling, and applied analytics to understand driver behavior, system performance, and operational risk across transportation systems. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and technical reports and has led or contributed to major federally and state-funded projects addressing truck safety, freight mobility, telematics, and network disruptions. His work supports data-driven decision-making for transportation agencies and industry partners.
