Ry Karl obtained his BSc. in Materials Engineering from the University of Alberta, where he was a part of the university's co-op program. During his time in the program, he worked for three different companies: Tenaris, EVRAZ, and Syncrude. Prior to completing his undergraduate degree, he obtained his technical diploma in nanotechnology from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT). As a member of the advanced materials and processing laboratory (AMPL) at the University of Alberta, Ry is currently working on modelling Stelco's laminar cooling system.
