Ruth TIFFER SOTOMAYOR

Ruth Tiffer Sotomayor is a Senior Environmental Specialist at the Global Environment Deparment of the World Bank with over 25 years of experience in biodiversity conservation, ecosystem restoration, and environmental assessment of large infrastructure. She has worked across different regions, in topics related to biodiversity, forest and landscape restoration, marine ecosystems, water resources management, climate adaptation, fisheries, mining remediation, risk mitigation. Ruth is a core team member of the Bank’s Global Program on Nature-Based Solutions for Climate Resilience and the Nature Based Solutions Invest Program. She is currently leading the African Eurasian Flyway Initiative. She is an ecologist specialized in tropical and terrestrial, marine and freshwater ecosystems; she previously worked with Costa Rica’s National Conservation Areas System.
