In 2023, Petra was appointed as the Executive Vice President of Fortum’s Nuclear Generation Division and became a member of the Fortum Leadership Team. As EVP, Petra is the Chief Nuclear Officer for Fortum’s Loviisa nuclear power plant and oversees the governance of Fortum's co-owned nuclear companies, Nuclear Services business, New Nuclear business, and the Engineering & Projects expert organization. Prior to this role, she held several positions within Fortum, including her role as Vice President, Nuclear Engineering Services and Co-owned assets (NESC), where she provided project and engineering support to Loviisa nuclear power plant and services to external customers. She also held the position of Vice President, Nuclear Services, where she was responsible for nuclear business development, investment processes, and research. In addition, she was involved in solar business development and was Vice President, Chief Technology Officer of Fortum Corporation. Petra’s board memberships and professional affiliations are extensive, including her current role as Managing Director of Fortum Power and Heat Oy and her position as Co-chairperson of Teollisuuden Voima Oyj. She holds a Master of Science in Technical Physics from the Helsinki University of Technology.
