Ondřej Mikeš

Living Lab Manager, academic staff member · Brno Living Lab, RECETOX, Masaryk University · company speakers →

Ondřej Mikeš works at the RECETOX centre of Masaryk University, where he focuses on how the environment around us affects human health, drawing on several international research stays. He most often deals with outdoor and indoor air quality, sensors, data, and all topics connected with maps, human mobility, and spatiotemporal analysis. He is interested in finding new ways to use modern technologies to improve exposure assessment and, at the same time, involve citizens in research processes. He believes that high-quality data should not end up only in scientific papers, but ideally help cities, schools, and policymakers make better decisions. For this reason, he currently serves as manager of the certified Brno Living Lab, where he connects academics, public administration, schools, and the general public in search of more practical ways toward a healthier and more sustainable environment. Alongside his research activities, he is also engaged in science communication and the popularization of topics related to air pollution and environmental risks.
